Today was another appointment with Dr. Bernstein. Max's platelet count was still ok, at 96. We will wait until next Thursday to do another WhinRho treatment, if his count is low, which is most likely will be. He is also putting in for authorization for Max to have the Rituxan medication. It will have to be administered at a hospital and takes 4-5 hours. He will get it every week for 4 weeks. Side effects should be minimal, except his immune system will be virtually shot. Because of that Max will also have regular treatment of the IVIG that will provide extra immunoglobins to help fight off infection. It will take 2-3 months to know if the medicine is working. If not, we do another round. Max doesn't really care so much anymore. It looks like the weekly appointments are going to last for a while. I am encouraged that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Let's hope everything goes as planned.

I'm so glad to hear that Max is getting through this so well. He really is a trooper. Ava still sees his picture and the other boys on our fridge and asks about them. I show her pictures on the blog and she says, "Can we go to their house?" We pray for Max and your whole family to be able to be strong and figure all this medical stuff out. We love you and miss you!
